Creating Peace Through Peace Talks

Today I blogged over at The Primary Punchbowl.  It's a new primary collaborative blog.  Have you checked it out yet?  If not, definitely pop on over and see who we are and find some great ideas and resources.
I blogged about creating peace through peace talks.  This is a crazy and hectic time of the year.  Can you imagine a peaceful classroom for the month of December and all other months after that?  Interested in finding out more?  Click the picture to hop on over and read all about peace conferences.

Wishing you a peaceful December!

Five for Friday ~November 13

I'm so happy to be back and be linking up with Kacey from Doodlebugs Teaching for her fabulous Five for Friday linky party.  I've been so busy lately that I've missed blogging and linking up on Fridays to see what all my friends are up to.  What am I up to?  MOVING!  We are officially at 30 days until we fly home to Seattle.  Our two years here have flown by!  So much to do in the next 30 days but this morning I pause and reflect on my week...

Tuesday night I went to dinner with a dear friend.  Our boys look like twins and attend Montessori together.  We have become very close and I'm going to miss her dearly.  On Tuesday night we headed out to our favorite meeting place for dinner and drinks... and we decided to order dessert too!  It's a newer restaurant that is right on the beach.  Check out our view of the sunset!

Here's the two of us.  Note... we are not good selfie takers.  This was like our 6th attempt.  :)

My husband had Wednesday and Thursday off.  We started cleaning and purging.
Decluttering is an important first step to take when preparing for a move. Not sure how to get started? Here's how to declutter your place.:

Hello magic eraser I LOVE you!  When we moved in Levi was 2.  He had a lot of fun coloring our walls and doors for us to help us feel at home here.  Now comes the job of scrubbing it all off.

A friend of mine back home messaged me a couple weeks back asking if I have any money games.  I said of course, I'll email them to you.  Ummm.... no I didn't.  So I've been busy creating money games.  I made Piggy Bank SPLAT!  SPLAT is a fun matching game played similar to slap jack.  I made it in color and in black and white.  There are 2 full games.  The first game has 36 coin combinations with matching numeral form cards for combinations up to 50 cents.  The second game has 36 coin combinations with matching numeral form cards for combinations of 50 cents to $1.  Both also come in black and white.  If you're in need of math stations or small group instruction activities for money click the picture to head to my store to check it out.

I also made Money Go Fish.  This game comes in color and black and white as well.  There are a full set of games for coin combinations up to 50 cents and another full set for coin combinations up to $1.  A full set is comprised of 4 games in color and 2 in black and white.  Click the picture to read more about it in my store.

Sunday I'm going to a tea party with a couple girlfriends of mine.  We are so excited.  Note that the invitation says hats and gloves are mandatory!  Luckily a friend of mine has 2 hats that 2 of us are going to borrow.  I'm hoping to find some gloves tomorrow.  Now I just have to figure out what to wear...

As I stated above we are now on our last 30 days here in the Bahamas.  I've decided to celebrate and honor our time here by sharing my favorite memories from our two years here over the next 30 days.  I will be sharing these memories on facebook and instagram.  If you don't follow me on instagram you can follow me here.  If you don't follow me on facebook you can follow me here.  To kick off 30 days of memories here is day 1:

We spent Christmas Eve on the beach our first year here.  We had just moved out of temporary housing and into our home a couple days before.  Things were finally improving and we were beginning to feel happy to be in the Bahamas.  Where else can you spend Christmas Eve in the ocean and on the beach?  A Christmas Eve we won't ever forget!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Currently November 2015

It's hard to believe it's November already.  We had a very nice Halloween here.  It was our last one in the Bahamas and we enjoyed the fact that it was warm and we were sweating in our costumes.  Next year we will be attempting to layer enough clothing under our costumes to stay warm and dry.

We received our date and will be flying home to Seattle on December 13.  Looking forward to being home but in the meantime there is so much to do... including linking up with Farley for her fabulous linky party.  Thank you Farley!

Here's what I'm up to currently...

There is nothing like the sound of the coffee pot brewing your morning cup of coffee.  I add a little bit of cocoa and sprinkle in some pumpkin pie spice.  Top it off with some milk.... and perfection!

Can I just say that I LOVE Stitch Fix?  When living abroad shopping is very challenging.  You have to either guess and order online (and deal with trying to return it when it isn't right) or wait and cram it in when you are visiting the US... no easy feat when you have two kids.  Stitch Fix has been just what I needed.  I lucked out and got a great stylist who really seems to understand my style but yet still pushes me to try new styles.  My last 2 fixes have been fall and winter clothes for when I return home to Seattle.  I don't even remember what is in storage from 2 years ago.  I now have some fun pieces to pack in my suitcases to last me 10-14 days while I wait for our storage to be delivered.  My next fix is due next week.  It'll be my last one before I move.  I did request a fun outfit to celebrate my birthday in for this month's fix... I'm turning the big 4-0!

So we are shifting into moving mode.  I am going to schedule the movers to pack us out December 3 and 4th.  I purged my daughter's room and closet the past two days.  Today I'm on to our master bedroom.  It's going to take a few days I think.  Making lists, organizing, purging, all what I call moving prep stage 1.

Both of our community pools are undergoing repairs.  I'm so sad.  I miss hanging out at our beautiful pools.  We won't swim in our community pools again before we move.  Looking forward to swimming at Atlantis in December if it stays warm enough.  We will stay there for 10 days after the movers pack us out.... so excited!!!!!

We are trying to find a home to rent when we return to Seattle.  First house we found we found it too early and the owner was able to rent it out before we returned home.  Second house turned out to be a rental scam.  Third house we love but there is already an application on it.  It's a terrible time of the year to be looking.  There just isn't much out there.  Praying we don't end up in an apartment...

When I think of Thanksgiving and everything delicious on the table I think of my mom's stuffing.  Growing up I spent Thanksgiving morning toasting and cutting loaves of bread into cubes for the stuffing.  The recipe is from my great grandmother and I have yet to eat stuffing that I find equally delicious... but I could be biased.  :)
